Clarity for Your Journey

Deciding on the right support shouldn't add to your burnout. This FAQ is designed to give you a better idea of what you're in for here at The Journey Lab.

Coaching Pathways

What do our coaching sessions actually look like?

Each session is a sanctuary for your nervous system. We move beyond traditional 'talk therapy' by integrating real-time somatic awareness. We begin by grounding into the present, then explore the mental and physical blocks currently driving your burnout. It’s a collaborative, calm process designed to leave you with immediate clarity and actionable tools.

How does somatic work feel if I’m used to logical thinking?

As a high-achiever, you’re likely very good at logic, but burnout often lives in the body. Somatic work feels like a gentle unlocking. It’s about noticing the tightness in your chest or the buzz of overthinking and learning to regulate that energy. It feels grounding, reassuring, and helps you trust your physical intuition alongside your intellect.

What is the time commitment for burnout recovery?

Recovery isn't a race—it’s a restoration. Most clients find that weekly 60-minute sessions provide the consistent support needed to see shifts without adding to their overwhelm. We honor your pace, ensuring the work fits into your life as a source of energy rather than a heavy obligation.

What kind of results can I expect to see?

Expect to walk away with a quieted mind and a recharged internal battery. You’ll develop a 'toolbox' of somatic techniques to stop overthinking before it spirals. Most importantly, you regain your internal bond—feeling empowered to set boundaries, focus clearly, and rediscovering joy beneath the pressure.

My name is Devon Sedgwick. I'm a father, endurance athlete, cardiovascular nurse, and coach. I created The Journey Lab because I know what it's like to lose yourself while carrying the weight of life's responsibilities. If you're ready to stop surviving and start living with intention, I'd be honored to walk that journey with you.
